Welcome to the RTO/ERO District Website
District 8 RTO/ERO encompasses the geographical area of the County of Middlesex including the City of London. As members of RTO/ERO we are truly proud of the diverse nature of our urban and rural communities.
Provincially, RTO/ERO has 63,000 members. During the current year a number of activities have been planned to celebrate.
District 8 has over 2300 members. Retired teachers who are not members of District 8 are welcome to join this vibrant organization of volunteers.
Included in membership in RTO/ERO are the programs and services offered by the District, namely,
- Pension protection
- Communications through the District Newsletter "News at 8"
- Political Advocacy on issues affecting our members and seniors
- Social events such as our May Banquet, the "To Hell With the Bell Luncheon" on the first day of school, the October banquet and November poinsettia luncheon
- Recreational activities - Bridge, Bowling, Hiking, Book Discussion Groups, Golf tournament
- Travel opportunities
- Provincially sponsored Service-to-Others Community projects
- Service-to-Others provincial scholarships
- District 8 award program for graduates of the Faculty of Education - UWO, who were educated within the education systems of Middlesex County.
